It is over

The huge and absolutely successful celebrations of Winter Olympic Games are over. And, not being the grayest fan of the hoopla and millions of taxpayers dollars spent on it – I readily admit that they impressed me immensely. Both: the athletes and their struggles: glory of victories and agony of defeats and the public: crowds of happy and friendly human throngs, spectators. Smiles and friendliness. Happiness. In a word: an example of youthful euphoria, childlike sensibility and laughter.
And , of course huge achievements of Canadian Olympians. With the last minute national glory of gold medal in hockey! There will be a time for sober reflections, analysis. Few words of mine own thoughts on this subject. But today is a day for joy and satisfaction. And for admitting that it was a job well done. Bravo, Canada. Bravo to the young people of the world, who congregated in our city to compete and excel.
